Booking and pricing
How is the rental price calculated?
The price depends on the car, rental period, dates and pickup location. You see the full rental price before sending a request. If delivery needs a separate quote, we show this clearly. We do not add hidden charges.
What is the minimum rental period?
The minimum is 2 days. Check the car page for its exact minimum, which may depend on the delivery location.
How do I pay?
Pay when you pick up the car. There is no online payment or card form on the website. The manager will confirm the payment method before pickup.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Cancellation or changes are free up to 48 hours before the agreed pickup time. No prepayment is required. For later cancellations, contact us with your booking number. Any compensation will be explained and agreed in advance.
Driver requirements and documents
What are the driver requirements?
Main and additional drivers must be at least 23 years old and have held a category B licence for at least 2 years. Some cars have higher requirements, which we explain before confirmation.
Do I need an international driving permit?
Bring a valid driving licence and passport or identity card. If the licence details are not readable in Georgian, Russian or Latin script, ask the manager whether an international driving permit is needed before booking.
Can I add a second driver?
Yes. One additional driver can be added at no extra charge after we check their documents and eligibility.
What insurance is included?
Standard insurance is included for published cars. We explain the coverage, excess and maximum liability before pickup; these are recorded in the rental agreement.
Pickup, airports and return
Where can I pick up the car?
Pickup is available in Tbilisi, Tbilisi Airport, Batumi, Batumi Airport and Kutaisi. You can request delivery to another city when booking. Availability and price are confirmed separately.
Can I pick up at an airport?
Yes, at Tbilisi or Batumi Airport for eligible rental periods and bookings. Choose an airport and dates to see available cars. The manager will confirm the meeting point.
What if my flight is delayed?
Contact us using the details on the website. Include your booking and flight numbers so we can arrange a new pickup time.
Is a flight number required?
No. You can add it later, but it helps us arrange airport pickup.
Where do we meet at the airport?
The meeting point depends on the airport and pickup time. The manager will include it in your booking confirmation.
Can I return the car in another city?
Yes, if the route and car allow it. Arrange this in advance; the price is calculated individually.
Routes and driving in Georgia
Do I need an SUV in Georgia?
A standard crossover or Comfort car is enough for most paved routes. All-wheel drive and extra clearance may help on some mountain routes. Discuss your route with us in advance.
Can I cross the border or drive on difficult mountain routes?
Travel outside Georgia and on difficult high-altitude or seasonally restricted roads requires prior written agreement. This also applies to SUVs.
What if I have an accident or a breakdown?
Stop in a safe place and contact Georgia Car immediately. For an emergency, call 112. Discuss repairs and the next steps with us before proceeding.
What should I keep in mind when driving in Georgia?
In the mountains, check weather, visibility and seasonal restrictions. Take your time on winding roads, follow road signs and discuss high-altitude routes with us in advance.
How does parking work in Tbilisi and Batumi?
Central areas often have paid parking, with different zones and rules in each city. Check markings and road signs. The driver pays parking charges and fines incurred during the rental.
